Robert Pattinson Joins 'The Lost City of Z'

Rumors surrounding the film adaptation of The Lost City of Z have been circulating for the past year, but with Benedict Cumberbatch attached, Brad Pitt's production company, Plan B, may finally be getting serious about the movie. Robert Pattinson is now said to be joining the picture, reports GossipCop, though it's currently unclear what role he'll be playing.

Cumberbatch will be playing real-life British explorer Percy Fawcett, who disappeared in the Amazon jungle in 1925 while searching for the titular city, which he believed existed in the Mato Grosso region of Brazil. The city was the subject of David Grann's 2009 New York Times bestseller of the same title, which renewed interest in the mystery surrounding Fawcett's disappearance, and posited that the archaeological site known as Kuhikugu may be the lost city.
