Ariana Grande spent some time on the road with Justin Bieber this week, opening a couple of dates for the Canadian teen heartthrob on his Believe Tour. The pair share a manager in Scooter Braun, and have apparently become friends, as Justin urged Ariana to tweet a photo of them cuddling backstage at a show on Thursday.
Naturally, Ariana obliged, writing, "you're crazy and nonna says thank you, she loves you."
Naturally, a handful of Beliebers went nuts.
Ariana, to her credit, responded to the hate rather gracefully:
But fans really needn't freak: Ariana and Justin share a manager in Scooter Braun, and this is little more than an adorable publicity stunt. If you were Justin, wouldn't you rather have people whispering about your flirtation with an age-appropriate cutie than a pair of thirtysomething cocktail waitresses?
