2013 MTV VMA Nominations: Justin Timberlake, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Miley Cyrus Up for Moonmen

The most-nominated artists at the upcoming 2013 MTV Video Music Awards are, hilariously enough, a duo known for hitting it big in thrift store finery and a dude who likely had his hair chemically straightened to look more suave in his Tom Ford suits. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Justin Timberlake have each been nominated for six awards this year, and are up against each other in the Video of the Year category.

Other heavyweights in 2013 include Bruno Mars, who scooped up 4 nominations, as well as Miley Cyrus, Pink, 30 Seconds to Mars, and Robin Thicke, who have all been nominated for three awards.
Though Miley's often bizarre video for "We Can't Stop" has been a magnet for criticism, it's up for Best Female Video, Best Pop Video, and Best Editing. Unfortunately, Best Tongue is not a category.
Also of note: This year the Best New Artist award will be re-branded Best Artist to Watch presented by Taco Bell. Starting today, fans can vote in this and other VMA categories online or text VOTE to 22444 (standard message and data rates apply.) In addition, “Artist to Watch” is available for voting via MTV’s official Facebook page.

Below, check out the full list of nominees, and don't forget to start voting!
