Disney’s Demi Lovato deleted her Twitter account over the weekend and failed to show up at the Jonas Brothers World Tour / Camp Rock 2 Tour concert on October 30th – with rumors flying that she was in the hospital. Well, it turns out it was more serious than many of Demi’s fans thought as the actress/singer has just checked herself into rehab to deal with “issues” that have been with her for a while.
A rep for Demi stated:
Demi Lovato left her tour early this weekend in order to seek medical treatment for emotional and physical issues she has dealt with for some time. Demi has decided to take personal responsibility for her actions and seek help. She is doing just that. She regrets not being able to finish her tour, but is looking forward to getting back to work in the near future.
We know in the past Demi was rumored to have cut herself and have an eating disorder and her fans are wondering if this is the reason she is currently in rehab.
A source told People Magazine that the trauma of being bullied in school has stuck with Demi and that:
She fought through eating disorders and has struggled with cutting. Demi is taking control by getting help.
We’re glad Demi is getting help, whether for hurting herself or for being overworked because of the stress of life on tour. We wish her and her family the best.
