We're all waiting for John Mayer to pop the question to Katy Perry, but it appears One Directioner Niall Horan has beat him to the punch. Horan showed off an "engagement" selfie on his Instagram page Friday.

While these two clearly aren't actually engaged, Horan isn't shy about his fondness for the 29-year-old pop star. (He's 20, for the record.) She gave him a quick kiss at the VMAs last year and he raved about the moment to Cosmopolitan. "It was amazing and very purple – she had purple lipstick on," he recalled. "I don't think there will ever be anything cooler than kissing her ... until I marry her, maybe."
On Twitter a week ago, he proposed again: "I love you @katyperry ! Thank you! Ps Will u marry me?" he wrote.
After their real life meet-up in Japan this week, Horan posted another shot. "Me and my groomsmen and my lovely wife hahahaha," he wrote.
So far no comment from John Mayer. But he's probably not too threatened, especially considering she said "yes" to a Brit once before and we all know how that worked out.
