Shailene Woodley kept her promise: She chopped off her flowing locks for charity this weekend. The actress chronicled the haircut progress on Twitter after earlier this week she explained how she'd been inspired to do so by her role as a teenager battling Stage 4 Thyroid cancer in the upcoming movie The Fault in Our Stars.
Woodley, who says she's treasured her long hair for years now, reassured herself through the whole process with her new hashtag mantra: "#itgrowsback."
She started with a shot of the scissors. "..and so it begins..."
Then: "hair nubbins."
And, finally: "work in progress... but luckily, #itgrowsback !!! :))"
The star will supposedly shed the rest of her hair for the role, but perhaps that's going down at a later date. For now, it looks like she's getting used to her new shorter, blonder mop.
