Lea Michele is happy to be "home."
Less than one month after boyfriend Cory Monteith died unexpectedly from a heroin and alcohol overdose, the actress is back on the set of Glee to film the show's fifth season. Michele tweeted a photo from her first day back on set, writing, "Feels so good to be home..." The melancholy pic shows Michele, dressed up in character as Rachel Berry, sitting by herself in a quiet room.
Though many Glee fans were unsure how the musical dramedy would move forward following Monteith's death, Lea Michele reportedly insisted that it would be in the best interest of the cast and crew to get back to work.
"Ultimately the person who made the decision was Lea, who felt that the best thing for the cast and crew was to be together and to get back to work and be together every day and talk about our memories of him," Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy told E! News last month. "So we decided to do that with Lea's blessing and we're going to go back to work and have grief counselors on the set for two weeks because people are really hurting."
The Glee season premiere was pushed back one week in order to give the writers more time to craft a proper send-off for Monteith and his character, Finn Hudson. Producers have revealed that the show will deal with Monteith's death during the third episode of the season.
