Well, apparently its based on a book titled While I'm Dead... Feed The Dog all about a teen in the 70s whose mother tries to kill herself, then he uses the sympathy to get backstage at a David Bowie concert and is busy chasing girls and gets caught up in the mafia... or something like that.
