The ensemble action-adventure flick continued to reign at the box office over Easter weekend, earning an estimated $33.5 million in box office receipts nationwide.
In the time since the film's March 23 release, The Hunger Games -- costarring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth and others -- has taken in $302.9 million domestically.
The fourth installment in the American Pie film franchise, American Reunion, debuted short of expectations in second place with $21.5 million in receipts, while the 3-D rebilling of 1997's
Titanic premiered in third place with $17.3 million.
Rounding out the holiday weekend's top five films were Wrath of the Titans ($15 million) and Julia Roberts' retelling of Snow White, Mirror Mirror ($11 million).
